Over the last few weeks and months there have been some new groups begin and get growing in the south west and south Wales. On Saturday our Vice Chair, Sara Venn of Incredible Edible Bristol, went along to talk at the first session of Incredible Edible Maindee, a small area of Newport, in Gwent. The event was held at Maindee Library, a community run library which relies tatally on the will of it's immediate community to keep it alive. What a great job they are doing too!
It was a wonderful afternoon, with a fabulous turn out of people, all who wanted to know more about Incredible Edible, where it began and how it has become a movement not just across the UK, but worldwide. How surprised were they can you imagine when Sara mentioned Incredible Edible Madagascar! In typical Incredible style, following chats, tea and cake, the group set about planting up their first bed, which is just outside the library where the event was held. That's what we like to see of course-groups getting on with making change whilst meeting new folks and having a great time within their community. They are already looking out for new spaces to plant.
Welcome aboard also to Incredible Edible Big Worle and to Incredible Edible Timsbury, both of which are based in Somerset.
