Chorley is Incredible!!

Recently Pam was invited to speak at an event, Whats' Your story Chorley, in, not surprisingly Chorley. it's an annual event and is very much a family type event run by Chorley council. It's aims are to celebrate the written and spoken word whilst pulling people into Chorley town centre to support local businesses. with events being held all across the town it certainly was a vibrant and excting place to be. Pam said 


I thought I would start our story with a rendition of The hills are alive.... only kidding.

Potato day comes to Wigan this Thursday . Yes I know it's a bit later than most , but folks on Wigan market and at Sunshine House, Scholes are due a real treat. 
Loads of seed potato varieties to choose from, all free to local residents plus demos on how to grow your own in tubs, tyres or tiny corners and recipes galore of great and easy meals from the humble spud.
It's first come first served on Wigan market from 12 noon and then Scholes from 3pm.

Whenever I rack up in a town somewhere in the country I am always, without exception, reminded of how lucky I am to be involved with Incredible Edible. The conversations, the amazing things folks are doing, the laughter, the 3D plant pots!

Pam Warhurst gives some further insights into the IN project

What it's not is a generic community empowerment model. We've had enough of those!. What it is is a different way of testing is our model.

A model that says we have a missing piece of a future plan. It's called putting people back into the driving seat.

IncrEdible North - A tale of two boroughs

Brilliant day. Started in Rochdale at the one year anniversary of the Incredible Medical allotment right next door to the Croft Shifa medical centre on Belfield Road ,Rochdale. 

Made possible by a combination of the council, the health centre and the landowner; delivered by the people of the area with the invaluable help of Rachel from Petrus Trust and wonderful supporters from local councillors to Rotary to name but two.

Wigan Evening Post revealed the incredible news that his Tuesday 28th June at 3pm, an IE team will be coming to the borough and helping volunteers plant fruit, veg and herbs on Believe Square.

Residents are also invited to come along dig in and  find out more about how they can become involved. Founder of Incredible Edible Pamela Warhurst is originally from Leigh and is delighted to be growing Incredible Wigan.
