Wales

In just two years, Incredible Edible Wales has gone from strength-to-strength

The first Incredible Edibe Wales launched in 2013 in Abergavenny & Conwy and there are now 9 groups in country with Prestatyn the latest member. Like the rest of the UK, these groups are diverses some small and some large and it is in Wales we boast our moat growing plots courtesy of Conwy Castle and one of our Incredible Edible schools at Ynysddu.

And on a glorious day of sunshine last year, we held our first Incredible Edible Welsh Conference. This attracted around 200 people who took part in workshops, networking activities and devouring some excellent local food.

In recognition of this groundswell of groups, Alison Howard of Monmouthshire County Council - an avid supporter of Incredible Edible - has become our Welsh Representative.

Recently, Alison has coordinated a hugely successful event for IE Founder Pam Warhurst to address her colleagues from neighbouring authorities, including health groups, housing associations, social services, enterprise officers, as well as The Federation of City Farms, & Transition towns and Community Supported Agriculture.

She has also been busy connecting groups so they can offer each other peer-to-peer support.
